Tasty Christmas Biscuits Recipe!

Hello everyone! To start off my Christmas posts i decided to share with you a delicious festive recipe that will really get you in the Christmas spirit. These make a perfect snack to share with your family or a cute Christmas present!

You'll need:
• 100g Caster Sugar
• 100g Unsalted Butter
• 1 egg
• 275g Plain Flour
• Possibly a splash of milk

For the topping:
• 150g Icing Sugar
• 2 or 3 Tablespoons of Water
• Possibly Food Colouring
• Edible decorations of choice

1. Preheat the oven to 190c and line your baking tray with greaseproof paper.
2. Cream the butter and sugar together in a bowl.
3. Lightly beat the egg on it's own, and then beat it in to the sugar and butter mixture a small amount at a time.
4. Stir in the flour until the mixture begins to look like a dough, i added a splash of milk at this point to help it combine more. You may not need this.
5. Roll the dough out on to a floured surface to a thickness of about 1cm and use biscuit cutters of choice to cut out your biscuits.
6. Cook the biscuits for around 8-10 mins or until they are a pale golden brown. Leave them on the side to cool down.
7. For the topping mix together the icing sugar and water in a bowl until it has created a smooth icing mixture. Add food colouring if you wish to. I went with green for my Christmas trees and red for some of my stars.
8. Spread the icing on to your biscuits and add any decorations. Then leave on the side until the icing has hardened.
