Today i decided to pick out 5 of my go-to Autumn/Winter polishes for this year! It's turned pretty cold in England so i think i'm officially allowed to start blogging about Autumn. Now I have mixed feelings about this time of the year - in one way i really miss the warm summer weather, but in another way i absolutely love it! Bring on the knitwear, the fluffy socks and the cute nail polish!
From Left to Right: OPI Give Me Moor, Barry M Cappuccino, Jessica Gingersnap, Sinful Colors Envy, China Glaze First Mate.
OPI Give Me Moor!
This colour is such a lovely wine coloured dark purple. I love the fact it gets darker as you apply more layers as this means you can change it up every time you apply it. This is perfect for Winter especially as it is such a pretty dark shade, it definitely looks good with a bit of glitter on for Christmas! (Yes, i'm talking about Christmas...117 days! Sorry!) I also find that this applies easily and has great lasting power, a couple of coats of this and maybe some topcoat and it will last for ages!
Barry M Cappuccino!
This is a really gorgeous shade and perfect as a transitional colour from Summer to Autumn as it isn't too dark, in fact it is a really pretty taupe shade that looks a lot lighter in real life than in the photo (don't know what happened there). This applies like a dream, and isn't at all streaky. It is opaque in two coats which is fab, considering it only costs £2.99 this will last you for such a long time and it's really cheap!
Jessica Gingersnap
Let's all just take a moment to admire the beauty of this nail polish. It is the most gorgeous orangey-gold colour i have ever seen (in fact i haven't seen many like this colour before). It glides on easily and looks lovely and opaque in two coats. It is very glittery but still easy to remove which is always a bonus! This will look fabulous in Autumn to glam up your nails, or will look awesome for that certain date in December that i won't mention again. Jessica nail polishes are quite pricey but if you find one you adore it is definitely worth it - and this truly is one i adore! Oh and one more thing, THE NAME! Extra points for that, as it just screams Winter time!
Sinful Colors Envy
I love this dark green shade as it isn't too in your face. I'm usually not that keen on wearing green shades, but this is the exception. You do need two coats for this as it looks a little sheer with one coat. It is a creamy colour with no shimmer and still looks very shiny when dry. The conistancy is a little runny but still applies easily. Sinful Colors is only £2 in Boots so they are a great bargain and this is definitely one of my faves from the brand!
China Glaze First Mate
I always bring this out every Winter as it is such a lovely dark shade. This also applies amazingly well with no streaks and only needs two coats. Again China Glaze is one of the pricier brands on the market but this bottle has lasted me for ages and has been used a lot! If you like dark shades, but don't like wearing totally black nail polish then i highly recommend this one as it is the best creamy navy colour, but doesn't look too harshly dark if you know what i mean :P
So those are my favourites!
