Traditional Scones Recipe!
One of my favourite British classics is a cream tea! The combination of scones with jam and cream, and a good cup of tea is too good to resist! I decided to give them a whirl and make them at home and they worked really well!
You will need:
♥ 225g Self Raising Flour
♥ 85g Caster Sugar
♥ 55g Butter
♥ 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
♥ 110g Raisins (Optional)
♥ 150ml Milk
1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
2.Add the flour, caster sugar, butter and baking powder in a bowl and mix it with your fingers until it has a breadcrumb like consistency.
3. Add in the raisins. Then add the milk a little at a time until all the mixture comes together.
4. Roll out the dough mixture then cut out little circles about 2cm thick and glaze them with milk, then add them on to the baking tray. If the dough feels too wet and is sticking to everywhere as you roll it out then add more flour to it.
5. Bake for around 12 minutes, or until golden and risen.
